Who we are
FUNDACIÓ GOSSOS was created in Basel, Switzerland. The founder and president of the foundation, Gigi OERI is the soul of this great project that aims to further the well-being of dogs and the relationship between man and dog.
The Fundació GOSSOS (the word means ‘dogs’ in Catalan) is committed to the cause of lost and abandoned dogs and engages in taking care of, socialising, and training dogs to foster their physical and emotional recovery. This way we prepare them for family life and offer them a new opportunity. Every animal has the right to live a happy life without fear and for this we do everything in our hands.
The foundation acts directly at ground level by supporting the shelters and the dog sterilisation campaigns which have been subsidised by Fundació GOSSOS in Ibiza. It receives the cooperation of the island’s institutions and government, and works alongside COVIB (Colegio Oficial de Veterinarios de las Islas Baleares) as well as receives the collaboration of the 18 veterinary clinics. The result is over 1000 operated animals. We were also able to help over 500 dogs that were in municipal kennels find a new home.
